  1. Survivors’ Reception Pics!

April 12, 2012 by Sara Whitlock

I shot the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, Onslow County Chapter, Survivors’ Reception dinner last night! (wow what a mouthful).  If you or a loved one attended and had a photo taken on the awesome purple chair, you can CLICK HERE to find them!

Here are some directions for when you get there:

    1. Find your photo and click on it.  When it opens, there will be a number, to the left of the photo, in this format :FKP_xxxx.

    2. If you would like a high resolution, printable version, email me at shootme@frayedknotphotography.com, tell me what the FKP_xxxx number is, and I will send you the large, printable file, without the watermark.

    3. If you would just like the smaller, web-ready photo, you can click and drag the photo onto your desktop and post it wherever you’d like (Facebook, email, etc).

    4. If you send an email requesting the large photo, and you haven’t received it in 2 or 3 days, please check your SPAM folder to ensure it didn’t end up in there.

Please, if you have any problems at all, do not hesitate to contact us, and we will be more than happy to help you out!

I had the pleasure of shooting and editing some photos for Leah, a friend and phenomenal chef.

The link to Leah’s yummy website

People tell me she looks like she belongs on Food Network, in this photo, and I agree!

  3. Military.

March 21, 2012 by Sara Whitlock

You gotta love a guy in dress blues : )

This was done for a friend who needed an 8×10 print that is going to be displayed in a public place. It’s quite the honor, they tell me. So cool.

  4. A different sort of shoot

March 14, 2012 by Sara Whitlock

I love photography.  I really do.  I think I love it because its NEVER the same thing twice.  There’s always something different, whether its the location or the people or the circumstances.  I also love the touch-up part of the job.  Now, some people just want their photos left ‘as-is’, which is fine.  But others ask me to nip them in here, or zap their acne or do some other alteration.  I have no problem with that, I love photo manipulation!  Sometimes I ask my clients if I can play around with their photos, and see what I come up with. I am not perfect by any means, and its a learning process but it sure is fun!!

I did a photoshoot a couple of days ago in the studio… it was classic white background, and she wore a black corset and shorts, with black heels.  She needed a new photo for her website, so we got that out of the way and just played around with poses for awhile.

These are some before and after shots… I asked her if I could make her ‘plastic’ like the glamor mags, and she gave me the go-ahead….

  5. Family Pics!

March 9, 2012 by Sara Whitlock

I got a referral from the awesome Monica Curley, to do a family photo shoot.  We had a great time!  The girls were so cute and their parents were fun to work with.  Really, who could ask for more than that?

  8. Rebecca, revisited

December 8, 2011 by Sara Whitlock

A while back, I did a modeling head-shot shoot with Rebecca Pearcy.  Well, a couple of weeks ago, we decided to do another shoot.  Rebecca said that her husband was trying to get into modeling as well, so she brought him along.  We had a great time, as usual!  She needed business shots done, so we did those, then we did some of her husband, Joel.  Joel suffered some traumatic facial injuries while he was over in the sand box, not even a year ago, but you would never know by looking at him!  He must have had a great team of doctors, because I can’t even see a scar (and no, I didn’t have to photoshop anything).  He’s making a great recovery.  I hope he and Rebecca get the opportunity they’re looking for, to break into the lucrative world of modeling/acting!

  9. Christmas pics!!

December 7, 2011 by Sara Whitlock

I was walking around, shopping, last week, when all of a sudden I saw these awesome, huge, red stockings that were on sale!  I just had to get a couple.  Images of kids popping out of them were dancing in my head as soon as I got them in the car.  Soooo… of course I had to drag my kids to the studio and use them as soon as possible!  The resulting photos came out great!  It really is too bad that I’d already designed and mailed all of this year’s Christmas cards.  These would have made great photos for them!

  10. My Girls

December 6, 2011 by Sara Whitlock

My girls are 7 and 11 (well, almost 12).  They are growing up before my eyes!  I took them over to a spot I’d been eyeballing for months, to do photos.  They love to pose and be silly for the camera!  I hope they grow up strong and confident, but I hope they don’t grow up too fast!  Love you guys!
